Burn Permits & Status
Required for any open burning in the Girdwood Valley. Always check daily status before lighting.
Permit Requirements
- Burn permits are required for any open fire larger than 3 ft in diameter.
- Campfires in established rings under 3 ft are exempt unless a burn ban is active.
- Permits valid annually April 1 – August 31; renewable each season.
- All burns must have a charged water source and a responsible adult on site.
- Notify dispatch the day of burning by calling (907) 742-2670.
